There are 1000s of behavioral health apps. But which are right for your organization to recommend or endorse? This talk will discuss the potential and the pitfalls in the dynamic behavioral app space with a focus on the latest research, regulatory changes, payment schemes, and evaluation metrics. Whether seeking to offer apps to your employees, offer them as a health benefit to patients, or help your clinical teams make sense of the confusing marketplace, this talk is designed to give you direct answers and concrete steps to follow.
Using the M-Health Index and Navigation Database (mindapps.org) from Beth Isreal Deaconess Medical Center as an example, interactive demonstrations of app evaluation will be offered as well as lessons from creating digital formularies for diverse healthcare organizations. Experiences using apps with clients and important considerations when working with app vendors will also be shared.
