Introducing the Massachusetts Digital Health Initiative
June 8, 2017 9:00 - 11:00 AM

Presented by Massachusetts eHealth Institute

Last year, Governor Charlie Baker announced the launch of the state’s Digital Health Initiative and established the Massachusetts Digital Healthcare Council, bringing together public, private, academic, and healthcare leaders to build a stronger and more connected statewide digital health ecosystem. The Massachusetts eHealth Institute, MeHI, supports the Council and advises on the strategic priorities of the Initiative.

In this session, Laurance Stuntz, MeHI’s Director, will discuss the goals and programs of the Digital Health Initiative. Digital health, or eHealth, is among the fastest growing industry sectors in the country, encompassing products and services that use information technology to improve healthcare delivery, efficiency, and quality. Massachusetts is positioned at the forefront of this growth and has one of the strongest digital health clusters of any state in the U.S., offering unparalleled opportunities for startups and large firms alike. To support growth of this cluster, MeHI is developing a Healthcare Data Initiative, a Marketplace Program, and has provided grant funding to launch PULSE@MassChallenge, the Commonwealth’s digital health innovation lab. Join this session to learn more about the work of the Digital Health Initiative and ways to get involved.
